Chevron Necktie Knitting Pattern

Note: this is a square tip tie.

Chevron Seed Stitch Necktie Pattern:

CO 16 stitches.

Row 1: #p1, k3, rep from # to end.
Row 2: #k1, p5, k1, p1, rep from # to end.
Row 3: #k2, p1, k3, p1, k1, rep from # to end.
Row 4: #p2, k1, p1, k1, p3, rep from # to end.

Repeat these 4 rows until piece measures 21” in length.

Decrease Row: (Row 1 of pattern)
Row 1: p2tog, k3, p1, k3, p1, k3, p1, k2tog (14 sts)

Knit 7 rows even:
Row 2: p5, k1, p1, k1, p5, k1
Row 3: k1, p1, k3, p1, k3, p1, k3, p1
Row 4: p1, k1, p1, k1, p5, k1, p1, k1, p2
Row 1: k3, p1, k3, p1, k3, p1, k3, p1
Row 2: p5, k1, p1, k1, p5, k1

  2. after 1st decr.you have knit 7 even, does that mean just knit 7 rows?which I did. then 4 rows down from there on row 1 the stitch count there is 16 and we only have 14 stitches,then next decrease does not add up to 12 sts. (row 4:) does anyone see or comment on how the tie rolls? thank you culleen

  3. Hi. When it says Decrease Row: (Row 1 of pattern) does that mean I do row 1 of the first part (p1, k3) and then do the Row 1 that’s under where it says that?

  4. After 1st decrease, the 2nd “row 1”, contains 16 stitches, not the 14 with which you are working at this point.
    See Row 1: k3, p1, k3, p1, k3, p1, k3, p1
    Can you please correct to stay in pattern?
